What Is Different About the 20th Anniversary VW Golf R?

Unique Performance – While the 20th Anniversary Volkswagen Golf R will still come with the robust 315-hp engine that the standard version of the hatchback gets, a six-speed manual transmission will be available for order. This is unique to the North American market and is one option along with the conventional seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Add on AWD handling, and you have a perfect all-season hatchback for Northern Colorado.

Specialized Interior Features – Both the front door trim and the dash panel inside the 20th Anniversary VW Golf R are adorned with real carbon fiber for an upscale touch that helps make this hatchback truly special. One notable aspect of the limited-edition Golf R is the removal of the sunroof. This helps make the vehicle even lighter for improved performance and shows off the sleek rooftop design of the vehicle. The steering wheel also has a blue “R” emblazoned on it.
