Volkswagen is adding to their SUV lineup with the new Volkswagen Taos in mid-2021 as a 2022 model. Slotting below the Tiguan in terms of size, this new SUV will contain everything you expect a great Volkswagen vehicle to have. Plus, it features new innovative technology and performance features. The name was chosen to appeal to the North American consumer, having its origin come from the town of Taos, New Mexico. Drivers can expect the same reliability and performance every other Volkswagen SUV has with the 2022 Taos. Other optional features include larger 19-inch wheels and a panoramic sunroof.

2022 Volkswagen Taos Performance
Volkswagen will be utilizing a new high-tech version of their EA211 engine in the 2022 Volkswagen Taos. This turbocharged four-cylinder engine is being upgraded from its 1.4L counterpart found in the Jetta to a 1.5L variant which will provide 158 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Despite being larger than the original EA211 engine and providing increased performance, it has been revealed this engine will be more fuel efficient. This will be done with new high-tech design technology to get every mile out of the engine without sacrificing any performance. The Taos has front-wheel drive with an eight-speed automatic, or all-wheel drive (AWD) with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Interior Features
The interior of the Taos features premium modern comforts and technologies that drivers come to expect from any VW model. All trim levels will come standard with the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit for an immersive visual experience for the driver. The 2022 Taos features Volkswagen Car-Net with a Wi-Fi® hotspot built-in for available interactivity occupants will enjoy. The Taos will comes with available options for upper-level trims such as the MIB3 infotainment system which also adds wireless features like charging and App-Connect.
